A Christmas Miracle — Scrooged (10/10) Movie CLIP (1988) HD

- This is the closing scene of the movie “Scrooged”. The movie is a reimagining of the Charles Dickens classic “A Christmas Carol”.

If you’ve never read it, I feel sorry for you. After you read this post, you need to buy the book and read it. Here’s a link to the book on Amazon, https://amzn.to/2VUkIER. If you buy it, I might get a small commission from Amazon.

While the movie is nothing too special, it does have its moments and I enjoy watching it each year.

The final speech by Bill Murray’s character Frank Cross is what gets me every time. He says, “I get it now. And if you give, then it can happen. Then the miracle can happen to you.”

He talks about how great it feels to not be selfish. Giving is like an addiction the more do it, the more you want to do it. The more you give, the more you get back.

It’s so true.

Think for a minute about the people you know. Who is the most well-liked? What traits does that person have? Are they always angry, self-centered? I bet not.

I’m willing to bet the person you thought of, is rather generous in every aspect of their life. They are probably kind and jovial. You can count on them whenever you need anything. They show up to help even when they are not asked. They are usually the first person to show up, and the last person to leave.

That’s it, you want to be happy, help make someone else’s life easier.

Why then do we wait until the Christmas season to live this reality?

Because life is busy and ugly. There’s traffic and spilled coffee. And, we don’t get daily reminders to slow down and take a deep breath as we do during December.

My pledge, to you my readers, is to do a better job next year of keeping us all in sync with the spirit of Christmas and help you keep it year-round. Like Ebenezer Scrooge or Frank Cross, I want that glorious happy feeling deep down in my belly. I can feel it fighting to break free right now, can you?

Help me spread the joy. If it touches, share my posts with your friends and invite them to subscribe.

I love hearing your thoughts, so comment below.
